• Refers to a set of layers within an IT infrastructure and these layers comprise of security protocols and practices such as company rules and policies, physical security like: doors, walls, guards, security cameras, then we have perimeter network security like firewalls and DMZs and all of these protect the inner-most layer which is the internal network that contains all important data and directories.
